German investors are interested in coalfield of Kharkiv region

Investors from Germany plan to establish high-tech enterprise based on old mines that will produce fuel from coal for engines in Barvenkovsky area. This was reported on January 20 by the Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration Mikhail Dobkin. According to him, leaders of the Administration met with investors in December 2011.
The Governor noted that investors have already registered a company in Barvenkovsky area. The initial capital of the company is about 100 thousand euro. "This is not a firm for one day, which is created with confusing goals and objectives," said Mikhail Dobkin.
According to him, investors learned about Kharkiv region through Ukrainian road show being held in late 2011 in the major financial centers worldwide. "These road shows must go on, and Kharkiv region will participate there," said M. Dobkin.
"SQ" Reference. In Kharkiv region were explored five coalfields and Novodmitriev lignite deposit (Barvenkovsky area). Its reserves amount to 390 million tons of raw materials that can provide work of the mines for 100 years. Coal of Novodmitriev field can be used for combustion in boilers of power plants, briquetting and coal processing.
On the quality this coal is close to the German brown coal. One of the deposit projects, developed in 1970, assumed open coal mining up to 8 million tons per year with an increase up to 12 million tons. In order to implement the project it is necessary to invest in construction of thermal power plants, remove three hectares of arable land, relocate of all residents from Nova Dmitrievka village.
