It is 14 years since since the beginning of monetary reform in Ukraine. As was reported to "SQ" at the Department of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) in Kharkov region, according to the Presidential Decree "On the monetary reform in Ukraine", the reform was held from 2 to 16 September of 1996 year. At he first day of the reform 100 thousand karbovanets have been converted for 1 hryvna to hryvna prices, rates, salaries, scholarships, pensions, funds of enterprises, institutions and organizations, as well as the contributions of citizens. Since September 2, all cash payments from bank accounts of business entities and citizens, and also non-cash transfers were carried out only in national currency. Till September 16 karbovanets and hryvna were used in cash circulation, but from September 17, the only means of payment became hryvna. Now in Ukraine is established its own cycle of production of banknotes as NBU Banknote-Mint and Factory banknote paper of NBU.
